bothfeet walking tours launches 4 day Great Ocean Walk
Photographic Workshops in 2010
Boutique walking tour operator bothfeet is teaming up with award-winning Australian photographer David Hugh Evans to offer four exclusive Photographic Workshops in 2010. Participants will be able to get up close to the spectacular flora and fauna of Victoria’s unique Great Ocean Walk, while experiencing small group photographic tuition with an acclaimed professional and enjoying the comforts of the eco-chic bothfeet walking lodge.
Designed for keen amateur Digital SLR users and intermediate enthusiasts alike, these 4 day journeys will enable photographers to hone their practical skills on a series of hikes escorted by an expert bothfeet guide with intimate knowledge of the wildlife and nature along the route, as well as the best times of day to be at different locations along the walk. The sections of the Great Ocean Walk covered have been chosen to provide an ideal outdoor classroom for photography techniques, with good road access so photographers don’t have to carry their gear too far.
The Photographic Workshops include six half day modules of three hours, with tuition on black and white images, experimenting with macro, day time composition, low light and rainforest environments, waterfalls and flowing water, general composition, wildlife and flora, sunrise and sunset, long exposures and panoramics. Each day or evening, David Hugh Evans and the bothfeet guide will choose the modules to undertake based on the weather and the group’s interests.
With a professional career spanning more than a decade, David Hugh Evans specialises in landscape and travel images and his work has appeared in many publications including his own landscape photography books. He was named South Australian Professional Photographer of the Year in 2006 and 2009, SA Landscape Photographer of the Year three times in the past five years and was runner up Australian Professional Landscape Photographer of the year in 2008.
Participants in the Photographic Workshops will enjoy all the signature bothfeet comforts.
After a rewarding day, guests will retire to the stylish bothfeet eco-lodge near Johanna Beach, a serene retreat ideal for groups and single travellers alike, with solo travellers accommodated in single rooms at no extra cost (single travellers share a bathroom). Prices start from AU$2295.00 per person and included in the experience is delicious regional cuisine created by the resident chef, the company of an inspiring guide, photographic tuition and transfers between the Great Ocean Walk and Melbourne.
The Photographic Workshops are scheduled for 10 February, 24 March, 5 May and 12 May 2010. For a full list of bothfeet walks, visit www.bothfeet.com.au or phone 1300 767 416.
